Don't know where this belongs, but I hope this is ok.

I emailed МодельХобби-Оренбург on the 4th of March with a few questions regarding some models I'm interested. So far I haven't heard anything from them. The website is still up, which at least gives the impression that they are still active. But maybe someone on here knows more?

You should not expect prompt answers.))) It is very traditional with many small-size hobby producers in our country:

1) not to answer at all,
2) to answer with huge delay.

Most of all, please avoid paying any money in advance.

If it isn't secret which model did you interest from them? Maybe other manufactures makes it.

I was looking at a few of the Tver coaches and restaurant car, and possibly a ТЭП70БС, but it all depends on availability, overall cost with shipping included, when payment is to be made. Although, as I have earlier in the thread been advised not to pay up front it depends more on how long it takes to produce the models.

Please take into consideration that "Modelhobby-Orenbourg" is notorious for "pirating" other authors' models (re-casting them, usually in very poor quality often described as "plaster-like"). This infamous practice undermines small modellmakers' effort to make new models without financial losses.

Oh. I was not aware of that. Well, I was told about the ТЭП70БС yesterday, that it was a copy of a Modellmix model, but that's a shame. I don't really want to support somebody pirating stuff. Are the Tver coaches available anywhere else?
