I did not expect to find a ЧМЭ3 at the market, for a relatively cheap price. As it turns out, the model was already digital. Yay! Now I just need to find some cars to pull behind it.

I was thinking of a passenger train, but all the passenger car models I can find in those colours, that are available, are UIC profile. I have seen Ammendorf coaches from both Евротрейн and one other manufacturer. However, the Евротрейн ones are sold out and the others have a two month manufacturing time and cost $156 per coach.

Heris were atleast supposed to release some, but I haven't seen any available yet.

ЧМЭ3 is mainly used as a switcher. So, you can use any type of passenger cars, even RIC. Or it can be used as regional short-range locomotive with sitting cars.

Ammendorf cars from Eurotrain you can find here: https://rocoland.ru/kategorii/product/view/62/214.html . It's approximately $270 for a 4 cars box, and they are in stock.

While I do know they are mostly used for switching, I prefer to run trains on the line. And as I have seen some ЧМЭ3's on passenger trains I thought that would be fun to run. But are there any sitting cars available in H0? The Eurotrain cars are sleeping cars, right?

And about the RIC cars, are those ever used on regional trains, or are they strictly for international services?

ЧМЭ3s on trains with sleeping cars or RIC are switchers. Its uses on the main stations then empty trains pulling back from the main station to parking places or passenger car's depot. So, you can use with such legend- yours TEP70 with train arrives to main station. After the passengers left the cars, ЧМЭ3 comes to train back and pull train back to some railway cal-de-sac or passenger car's depot for parking and for service. TEP70 are staying alone some time and after goes to depot.
